SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SURF FORECAST UPDATED 5-7-14
5-5-14 Another Juvenile Great White Shark was spotted cruising through the line up at El Porto again on Monday. In addition I, (along with 2 others), witnessed a 6-7 foot GWS jump completely out of the water near 45th street. If you see anything noteworthy out there, feel free to send us an email with the details.
By Thursday morning the wind swell will be dying quickly, but the better West facing beaches should still see waist high to maybe chest high left overs, (depending on how hard the wind blows this afternoon).

The conditions look okay with light 2-5 MPH winds out of the SE/SSE until 10AM and 10-12 MPH winds out of the West through the afternoon. The air temp will be 68 degrees on the sand.
For Friday morning will start off slow everywhere, but the most exposed South facing breaks like Huntington, Newport and select spots in the San O’ area will start to see some 170-175 degree angle energy start to pulse in late in the day. Top spots will go waist high plus, with larger sets due on Saturday.

The conditions look fair early, (for spots that can handle a South wind), with variable breezes out of the SE/SSE 2-6 MPH zone until 10AM and those will get up to 10-12 MPH out of the West in the afternoon. The air temp gets up to 69 degrees.
For Saturday morning we will see waist to chest high sets out of the South for only the most exposed South facing beaches. The angle of the swell will remain severe, coming up the line at a sideways, 175 degrees.
Looks like we’re in for some steeply angled, 310 degree, NW wind swell too. From what I can tell that should be good for at least waist high plus sets and possibly bigger if things go well.

The conditions look fair early, with variable breezes out of the E/NE MPH zone until 10AM and those will get up to 10-13 MPH out of the West in the afternoon. The air temp climbs to 71 degrees.
For Sunday morning, MOTHER’s DAY, we will see continued sets out of the South from 2 steeply angled South swells. One swell will be rolling in at 170+ while the other comes up the line from a slightly less extreme 180 degrees. Both are serving up long interval energy, but due to the severity of the angles, will bypass all but the most exposed South facing breaks. Look for standouts to go chest to shoulder high.
