HURRICANE WATCH: In the East Pacific, we are monitoring an area of low pressure around 1,000 miles south-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California. As this system drifts off to the west-northwest, some further development and organization is possible over the next few days.

In the Central Pacific Basin, Hurricane Oho remains hundreds of miles southeast of Hawaii. The only major impacts from the system will be rough surf, higher waves and rip currents, especially south- and east-facing beaches of the Big Island. Oho will likely maintain strength through the middle of the weak as a category 1 hurricane. Later this week, Oho will begin to accelerate northeastward over cooler waters and will begin to weaken but it could bring rain to British Columbia on Friday.
