HURRICANE WATCH:
As of Sunday morning, HST, Jimena remains a tropical storm well east of Hawaii, but will weaken this week. In addition, Tropical Depression 15-E strengthened into Tropical Storm Linda southwest of Mexico.
Jimena is about 650 miles east-northeast of Honolulu, Hawaii, and will continue to weaken due to its interaction with cooler waters.
Tropical Depression 15-E strengthened into Tropical Storm Linda Sunday morning around 600 miles to the south of the southern tip of Baja California. This system is tracking off to the northwest around 12 mph. Linda will strengthen further, likely into a Category 1 hurricane as soon as Monday or Tuesday, as it moves through a zone of low wind shear and warm ocean waters. Its general motion will parallel the Mexican coastline.

Monday should be solid with a combination of steeply angled NW wind swell with 8-10 second intervals and much stronger swell out of the SW. The Southerly swell will have powerful, 16-18 second intervals and come in from a 200-210 degree angle.
The top South facing breaks should be head high to well overhead on the bigger sets and any beach with a peek at the South will also pick up plenty of energy.
* The current should be pretty strong so if you’re going to the beach keep an eye on the kids.
