HURRICANE REPORT – Tropical Storm Rosa has blossomed from Tropical Depression 17E this morning. The system is only forecast to achieve tropical storm intensity as it wanders around the Pacific well to the southwest of Baja California Sur. The system is currently located about 725 miles southwest of Cabo San Lucas and is forecast to move west, then turn to the southwest and have little affect on any land mass..

For Friday morning is looking a bit better as the new NW energy generates some stomach to chest high plus sets for the most exposed West facing breaks.

The conditions don’t look really nice as the high pressure strengthens and kicks up NE winds in the 7-12 MPH zone until 1PM and afternoon onshores up into the 10-13 MPH range. Look for a high air temp of 80 degrees.

The current water temps are as follows – Newport 63 degrees, Huntington 66 degrees, the South Bay showed as 65 degrees, Santa Monica 64 degrees and Malibu 61 degrees.
