SHARK WEEK LIVE AT EL PORTO
7-11-13 I spotted yet another potential juvenile Great White Shark in the line up, that taped out at an estimated 4 feet. Over the last 8 days I’ve seen 2 addition sharks I estimated to be 6 feet based on the length from their dorsal to their tail. There is no reason to fear these little guys, they are only interested in snacking on baitfish, (which has been plentiful out front lately). If you do see a bigger shark, in the 10-12 foot range get the f#$k out of the water ASAP. At this size they are feeding on seals and seal lions and although the don’t favor people meat, they can always make a mistake. Have fun out there!
For Friday morning that SE swell will continue to dish up some 16 second interval sets for the top spots. It will basically be a repeat of Thursday, but you’ll have to find a break that’s receptive to that 170 degree angle in order to score.

The conditions look decent again with light and variable winds in the 1-3 MPH zone until 10 and back up to 12 MPH in the afternoon. The air temp will top out at 72 degrees.
Saturday morning should still have a little meat left on the bone with continued energy out of the South in the chest high zone. Same angle just a case of a slow dying swell. Smaller sets and longer waits in between.
The good news is that we should also see some smaller, but more liberally angled SW swell, (200 degrees), enter the picture. That will add to the dying SOuth swell and get into many more breaks than it’s predecessor. Sets should go at least waist to chest high.

The conditions look tolerable again with Westerly, onshore winds in the 1-3 MPH zone until 10 and back up to 13 MPH in the afternoon. The air temp will top out at 73 degrees.
By Sunday morning we’ll see the tail end of the Southerly energy with inconsistent, waist high sets for the best spots.
The SW energy should hold tight with chest high sets at any beach with a reasonable look at the South.
