HURRICANE WATCH

The storm late Tuesday had maximum sustained winds of 75 mph (120 kph). The storm is centered about 325 miles (523 kilometers) west-southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico. It was drifting to the west near 2 mph (3 kph).

The government of Mexico has issued no storm warnings or watches for the coast. Little change in strength is expected over the next 48 hours.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami said swells generated by Dalila are affecting portions of the southwest coast of Mexico.

It’s heading toward colder water so it’ll be a wait and see scenario for now.

For Thursday morning (the 4TH of JULY), will see no real improvement as all spots remain in the knee to waist high zone.

The conditions look fair with variable breezes, out of the SE/SSE, in the 2-5 MPH range until 10AM and up to 10 MPH out of the West until sundown. The air temp will dip down to 71 degrees.

Friday morning should see a minor improvement as some steeply angled, (305-310 degrees), 8-10 second interval, NW wind swell starts to move down the line. The best West facing breaks should go waist high plus.

The conditions look decent with variable breezes out of the SE/SSE in the 2-6 MPH zone until 10 and only increase up to 10 MPH in the afternoon. The air temp will top out at 72 degrees.

Saturday morning looks a little better as some fresh, SW energy, from a 195 degree angle fills in throughout the day. The top South facing breaks should go chest high on the sets by days end.

That steep NW wind swell should also remain in the mix with waist high plus peaks for the better West facing beaches.

The current water temps Newport 70 degrees, Huntington 70 degrees, the South Bay showed as 68 degrees, Santa Monica 68 degrees and Malibu 64 degrees.
